Artificial intelligence is transforming the way businesses manage information, automate routine tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
At OK Kosher, we are focused on a practical question:
How can technology improve the certification experience without compromising the standards and reliability that certification requires?
Technology Should Support Expertise
When people hear the term AI, they often think about replacing human decision-making.
That is not where we see the greatest opportunity.
Kosher certification depends on rabbinic expertise, established standards, direct oversight, and decades of accumulated knowledge. Rabbinic Field Representatives visit facilities, observe production, and verify compliance. Rabbinic Coordinators evaluate ingredients, suppliers, manufacturing processes, and certification requirements.
Technology cannot replace those responsibilities.
What it can do is help people work more efficiently.
Technology in Action
While much of the discussion around technology focuses on future possibilities, OK Kosher is already investing in digital tools that improve efficiency and streamline certification processes.
One recent example is the launch of our new Field Rep Portal. Traditionally, facility visits relied heavily on paper forms and manual documentation. The new portal allows Rabbinic Field Representatives to complete visit reports electronically, making the process easier and providing immediate access to digital records.
We are gradually expanding the portal across our field team and expect it to be used by all Rabbinic Field Representatives by 2027.
In addition to simplifying the visit process, electronic reporting improves record management, reduces paperwork, and makes information available more quickly when it is needed.
This is one example of how technology can enhance the certification process while maintaining the oversight and integrity that clients expect from OK Kosher.
Making Certification Easier to Manage
Modern food manufacturers manage a tremendous amount of information. Ingredient approvals, supplier updates, product submissions, certificates, schedules, audits, and regulatory documentation must all remain accurate and accessible.
Through our ongoing investment in DigitalKosher and in-house software development, we continue to explore ways technology can simplify these processes.
The goal is simple: spend less time managing paperwork and more time focusing on the work that matters.
Looking Ahead
At OK Kosher, innovation is not about adopting technology for its own sake. It is about identifying solutions that provide real value while maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
One area we are particularly excited about is the future of reporting and dashboards.
Manufacturers manage a tremendous amount of certification-related information, including approved ingredients, products, suppliers, certificates, schedules, and facility data. The ability to access that information quickly and clearly can save significant time and reduce administrative burdens.
As our digital platforms continue to evolve, we see opportunities to provide more tailored dashboards and reporting tools that help clients find the information they need when they need it.
Our goal is to improve visibility, reduce paperwork, and make certification information easier to manage.
The future of kosher certification will continue to be built on expertise, oversight, and trust.
The future of kosher certification is not about replacing people.
It is about empowering them with better tools.
