CELERY IS NUTRITIOUS and popular, especially in the summer—but it is prone to insect infestation. Thankfully, its smooth surface makes cleaning manageable.
Cleaning Instructions:
– CUT OFF and separate stalks from the base.
– REMOVE all leaves.
– VISUALLY INSPECT for damage, insects, or trails.
– RINSE under running water for several minutes.
– RUB each stalk with your fingers to dislodge insects.
– RINSE under strong water using a brush or towel to remove debris.
– INSPECT for worm trails or brown spots.
If worm trails or brown spots are found:
– SLIT open and remove the worm and full trail.
– WASH again thoroughly.
After this process, no further checking is required.
