Q Yom Tov falls on Tuesday and Wednesday. Can I feed my sourdough starter on Wednesday so it’s ready for Thursday?
A No. One may not prepare on Yom Tov for use after Yom Tov. Since the starter isn’t needed during Yom Tov and won’t be ready until afterward, it may not be fed on Wednesday. Wait until Wednesday night, after Yom Tov has ended, to feed it. That still leaves plenty of time to prepare sourdough for Shabbos.
