Is it permissible to soak and wash lettuce on Shabbos and Yom Tov? How about pre-checked lettuce that says to wash before using?

It is permissible to soak, wash and check all lettuce on Shabbos and Yom Tov. It does not have to be done immediately before the meal, because washing is not considered a form of separating.
